Over 20 years ago the first robot arm was developed by the company Exact Dynamics. The development of the robot arm was continued, which brought improved versions to the market year upon year. Exact Dynamics operates in a worldwide market, a market that is still in development. Due to a continual growth in demand and a desire to expand, Exact Dynamics decided to contract out European Sales to a new company. Assistive Innovations officially went into business on January 1 2006. Recently, Assistive Innovations also opened a second branch in North America. Together with Exact Dynamics, Assistive Innovations supplies products to the chronically ill or handicapped.

Besides products from Exact Dynamics, Assistive Innovations has been supplying products from other suppliers since 2008, among others the Mealtime Partner dining device.
